Made expressly with the intent of tackling Dry Mouth, the TePe Hydrate range can make a serious impact in a patients’ quality of life. Stimulating saliva, improving bad breath, and helping to prevent dental caries. We’ve written about this new range and what it can do for your practice:

No-one likes the feeling of a parched, rubbery dry mouth. Whether it’s caused by thirst or an ongoing medical issue, a dry mouth – known as xerostomia - can exacerbate bad breath, cause increased thirst, and be a persistent source of discomfort. What’s worse is that studies show that one in five people claim they are living with xerostomia symptoms. Many of the solutions which patients may look to for immediate relief include drinking sports drinks, eating ice lollies or fruit. While these solutions provide quick, short-term relief, they each also have a high sugar content, which works against their goals and oral health in the long run. Dry mouths are an oral health issue and can lead patients to make poorer decisions for their oral care, which is why the TePe Hydrate Range is so important.

If you’re looking for more content on oral health, you’re in the right place! We’ve written countless articles on dentistry, and some of our recent topics may interest you – such as our article on which toothpaste you should use in 2024. We give advice on how to encourage better oral health, as well as topical advice, such as the best endo motor to use in 2024. Finally, we also do other product highlights, such as our work for the SDI Stela, and Universal RelyX Dental Cement.

What is TePe Hydrate?
TePe Hydrate is a range of hydrating fluoride mouthwashes and mouth gels, designed to moisturise and soothe the mouth. Currently, the range has four separate products, apple peppermint and unflavoured mouthwashes, as well as two mouth gels in unflavoured and mild peppermint flavours.

This range provides both daily refreshment with the Hydrate Mouthwash, and on-the-go hydration with the Hydrate Mouth gel.

TePe Hydrating Mouthwash is a saliva stimulating, refreshing fluoride mouthwash suitable for people who experience oral dryness. It stimulates saliva production and eases the feeling of dry mouth.

Both mouthwashes have a viscous consistency which moistens and soothe the mouth, leaving a pleasant feeling after use. A dry mouth increases the risk of tooth decay, and the mouthwash contains 0.2% fluoride for extra protection against cavities. Its unflavoured variant is excellent for those with delicate oral tissues, being alcohol and mint-free.

While the mouth gel doesn’t share the benefits of fluoride, the ability to battle dry mouth on-the-go may help oral health in a different way. Studies show that Low levels of saliva may exacerbate the risk of developing dental caries, so being able to help your body regulate its saliva production may help to address this, as well as patient discomfort. Its 50ml bottle with practical pump makes it easy to use on the go and can be used as often as needed.
