Used for Local or loco-regional dental anaesthesia, the 3% mepivacaine injection solution 'Scandonest Plain' is a local anaesthetic formulated without a vaso-constrictor, making it more appropriate as an anaesthetic in specific medical situations. Scandonest also has no methylparaben included in its formulation, which helps to avoid allergic reactions on patients, as well as latex-free plungers and seals.
You wouldn’t use a vaso-constrictor in a case which may have contraindications, such as in patients with a history of myocardial infarction or uncontrolled hypertension.
